Purpose and Safety
- The sessions follow a summer camp-style agenda with a mix of outside and inside activities.
- The purpose of the academy is to interact with children in a positive way and demonstrate the activities that both departments use on a daily basis.
- The number one focus is safety in the daily lives of children in situations involving both fire and police services.
- In every event, the child's safety is the number one concern. At no point will the children be using any tool or apparatus without adult supervision.
Attire
- Children are encouraged to dress comfortably. Shoes, shorts, and T-shirts are recommended.
- There will be a water day, and on that day children should wear clothing that can get wet.
Meals and Water
- Lunch will be provided Monday through Thursday. Drinks will be provided for lunch.
- Water will be furnished during activities. Please allow your child to bring a reusable water bottle every day and write your child’s name on it.
