Brush Service

Brush Truck Service Update

The brush trucks are now servicing areas in E4 & W1.

  • Quick rules: Place brush in one pile near the road, away from trees, mailboxes, fences, utilities, overhead wires, and ditches. Keep piles no higher than 5 feet. Limbs must be 8 inches diameter or less. The town will not pick up commercial-cut brush for residential citizens.
  • Leaves must be in brown paper biodegradable lawn and leaf bags.
  • Brush pick-up is provided for residential citizens only (not commercial properties or apartment complexes).
  • The Street Department works one section at a time. There is no need to call for pick-up service.
Collection Details and Requirements
  • Service Scope: Collection is provided only for residential properties and not for apartments, commercial businesses, or industrial sites.
  • Source of Material: Only brush and limbs cut by the property owner will be collected; contractors must remove all brush themselves.
  • Placement: Brush must be placed within 5 feet of the roadway. If there is a sidewalk, brush should be at least 2 feet behind it.
  • Prohibited Placement: Do not place brush in the road or on sidewalks.
  • Piling Requirements: Place brush in one pile and keep it clear of trees, mailboxes, fences, utilities, overhead wires, and ditches.
  • Size Limits for Limbs: Limbs must be no longer than 6 feet and no larger than 8 inches in diameter.
  • Pile Size Limits (Regular Pickup): Brush piles must not exceed 10 feet long, 10 feet deep, and 5 feet tall.

Special Pickups and Non-Compliant Material
  • If a pile contains oversized or non-compliant material, the entire pile will be left and tagged. The property owner is responsible for separating compliant material for collection during the next regular cycle.
  • Piles larger than the regular limits (10 ft x 10 ft x 5 ft) are considered special pickups. A door hanger will be left, and the town will return to collect the excess material as time permits.
