Beer Permit Application


The Smyrna Beer Board regulates the selling, storing and distributing for sale and manufacturing of beer within the Town of Smyrna. Regulations relative to the sale of beer can be found within the Town of Smyrna Municipal Code, Title 8 "Alcoholic Beverages," Chapter 2 "Beer."

On-Premise Permit Application-  This application will have to be filled out for the establishment itself by the primary owner.  The application will also require a copy of documentation showing ownership structure, i.e. articles of incorporation, LLC Operating Agreement, partnership agreement, etc.

Off-Premise Permit Application-  This application will have to be filled out for the establishment itself by the primary owner.  The application will also require a copy of documentation showing ownership structure, i.e. articles of incorporation, LLC Operating Agreement, partnership agreement, etc.
 
Owner Application- Depending on business structure, if there is more than one owner with a 5% or more interest, this separate application will need to be filled out by each owner meeting this criteria.
 
Management Team Application- This application will need to be filled out by each (non-owner) manager you intend to employ at the establishment you are applying for.  Management team applications must remain current with each manager.  If there is turnover in the position, please assure that the new manager completes this form and it is submitted to the Town Clerk's office as soon as possible.  If the establishment will be owner operated (no separate manager), then this document will not be necessary as part of the application.
 
Once the establishment determines which application documents it will require, please complete each separate application form and have notarized.  Any applicable documentation may be submitted, along with a copy of each applicant's identification (drivers license) to the Town Clerk's office, 315 S Lowry Street, Smyrna, 37167.  There is a non-refundable application fee of $250 at the time of submission. 
 
Once the completed application and all required supporting documentation is submitted, the application will be placed on the next available beer board meeting for consideration.  Town of Smyrna Beer Board meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 5:00p.m. at Town Hall, 315 S Lowry Street, Smyrna.  In order to be placed on the following month's agenda, the Town Clerk would need all completed application materials (including supporting documents) at least two weeks in advance of a meeting.
