If you want to sign up for traffic school, you must contact the Court Clerk's Office to register and pay. The cost for traffic school may differ from what is listed on the citation.
Court Information
The jurisdiction, power, and authority of the Smyrna Municipal Court is set forth by ordinance. The Municipal Court has concurrent General Sessions jurisdiction over all violations of state criminal laws within the corporate limits of the Town. This includes conducting preliminary hearings on felony cases. The Judge also hears traffic cases and Town code violations.
In addition, the Court employs Judicial Commissioners who issue warrants and set bonds for persons charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes occurring within the corporate Town limits.
Dress Code for Court
All persons appearing before the Smyrna Municipal/General Sessions Court must be appropriately dressed and are required to show deference to the Court in both appearance and demeanor. Anyone in violation of the dress code will not be permitted into the courtroom without prior approval.
