About the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center

The Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center (SOAC) is an indoor facility that hosts a variety of activities:

  • hands-on children's exhibits
  • 20 foot climbing walls (please be aware that guests need to be 8yrs and older or 50lbs+ to climb on our rock walls)
  • cargo-net climbing structure
  • local artwork
  • inquiry-based programming
  • rooms available for party rentals
The SOAC is a faction within the Smyrna Parks and Recreation Department where the SOAC programming staff specialize in developing and presenting a variety of environmental, educational, recreational, and outreach programs for all ages. SOAC programs are geared towards bringing people inside to enjoy the activities while also getting them outside to experience any of the 10 parks within the Smyrna Parks system!

The Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center (SOAC) is committed to keeping its visitors and staff safe while having fun. Please read below on what to expect when you and your family visits the SOAC. Our friendly staff are eager to host you at the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center!

Requirements

  • Waivers : All persons must have the SOAC Waiver of Liability completed.
  • Closed-toe shoes : Climbers must wear closed-toe shoes for both of the Adventure Zone Rooms. Please no Crocs or sandals.
  • Clothing Appropriate to Climb : No bathing suits / swim suits.
                                                              Skirts should have clothing underneath (no undergarments showing).
                                                              No wet clothing permitted in the Adventure Zones.
  • To Climb in Adventure Zone 1 : Climbers must weigh between 50 lbs - 300 lbs of weight. 8 years and older.

Encouragements

  • Water Bottle : Visitors are encouraged to bring a water bottle with secure lid to stay hydrated while adventuring.
  • Complete an online Waiver of Liability for all persons prior to your visit.
  • Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to call 615-459-9710 prior to your visit to secure a climb time and a group price discount.


Regular SOAC Hours of Operation

  • Tuesday - Saturday (10:00am-6:00pm)
  • Sunday (1:00pm-6:00pm)
  • Monday (Closed)

Scheduled Climb Times

To ensure safety and cleanliness, the SOAC may implement scheduled Climb Times in the Adventure Zone Rooms. The Climb Times will be 40 minutes in duration. Climb Times start at twenty minutes past the hour (10:20am, etc.) with 20-minute cleaning intervals between each Climb Time (at the top of the hour). All visitors, including members, will be asked to sign up for one of these Climb Times during their visit.

Please Note: The Adventure Zone Rooms may be reserved (birthday parties, field trips, private facility rentals).
