I have lived in the Smyrna community for over 60 years. My wife Patty (formally Patty Floyd) and I have three sons: Josh, Tyler, and Trenton. We have two daughters-in-law, Jamie and Shelby, and three grandchildren, Sophie, Makenzie, and Davis. I graduated from Smyrna High School in 1973, Belmont College, now Belmont University, in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. I have a Master's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. In March of 2018, I retired after 40 years from Bridgestone. During that tim,e I worked at the LaVergne and Warren County Plants the first 20 years and the last 20 years at the North American Headquarters in Nashville. For most of those 40 year,s I worked in the Health and Safety field. I am a Board of Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
I served on the Planning Commission, Historic Zoning Commission, and Sister City Committee in Smyrna. I have volunteered as an assistant coach in the Smyrna Jr Basketball League. I am a lifelong member of Powell’s Chapel Baptist Church and have served as a Deacon there since 2001. I enjoy spending time with Patty, traveling, working around the house, going for walks, and attending activities around Smyrna.
