Volunteer Park

Located on 8th Avenue, Volunteer Park is home to the Smyrna Adult Softball League.  Renovated and developed for the purpose of providing softball fields for Smyrna youth and sometimes adults, this 14. 5 acre property is leased from the United States Army Corps of Engineers. This park was originally leased in 1975 while containing 2 softball fields and a concession stand.  The park was renovated in 1993 by the Smyrna Girls Softball League and the Town of Smyrna.  The renovation resulted in new athletic field lighting, upgraded parking areas and the addition of two more softball fields.  Over the years the league and Town have partnered to pave parking areas, construct a shelter, install a playground and add a picnic area.

As with many parks Volunteer Park not only is home to our local athletic leagues it is frequently used for softball and baseball tournaments. In 2010 the lease was renewed for another 25 years through 2035.
